Stratigraphic Occurrence

  • Upper Monmouth Group, top of the Navesink Formation of New Jersey

 

Age of the piece of shell

  • The contact between the Navesink and Hornerstown Marls has been postulated to be at or near the K–T Boundary (latest Maastrichtian, 65 mya (?)), and is also locally known as the main fossiliferous layer (MFL).

 

Geographic Occurrence (by no means an all-inclusive list)

  • Gloucester County, NJ
