Synonyms (older names and misidentifications in the literature)

Stratigraphic Occurrence

  • Upper Eagle Ford Group, Kamp Ranch Member of the Arcadia Park Formation, North Texas
  • Lower Eagle Ford Group, Lake Waco Formation, Bouldin Member of Central Texas

 

Age

  • Ptychodus occidentalis Leidy is found in the Collignoniceras woollgari (Mantell) zone (~91 mya).  Its occurrence in the Bouldin Flags is probably at the Collignoniceras woollgari (Mantell) level as well.  The Bouldin is in part Middle Turonian in age, see the Central Texas Stratigraphic Correlation Chart .
