  • The taxonomic classification of this fish has not be revised since Springer’s original description, as far as we know.

 

Stratigraphic Occurrence

  • Basal Austin Group, Ector Formation of North–Central Texas
  • Basal Austin Group, Atco Formation of North–Central Texas

 

Age

  • Although we do not know its exact range, Laminospondylus transversus Springer is definitely of Coniacian age, and likely occurs in the lower Coniacian Peroniceras (Peroniceras) haasi Young and Peroniceras (Peroniceras) westphalicum (von Strombeck) zones of Young (~88 mya).
