Turonian Age Pearl

Remarks

  • Here’s a rare beauty bestowed on us by Lee Duchouquette. This one was collected from the Upper Eagle Ford Group, Kamp Ranch Member of the Arcadia Park Formation, Dallas County, TX.
  • Inoceramid clams (Inoceramus (Volviceramus), Inoceramus (Platyceramus), etc., to name a few genera) can get quite large and are extremely common in Upper Cretaceous rocks, and have been implicated by a couple of authors as the source of these pearls.
