General Info

 

Synonyms (older names and misidentifications in the literature)

  • 1860 Does not = Cidaris hemigranosus Shumard

  • 1915 Leiocidaris hemigranosus (Shumard); Clark & Twitchell

  • 1955 Stereocidaris hudspethensis Cooke

  • 1987 Stereocidaris hudspethensis Akers & Akers

 

Stratigraphic Occurrence

  • Washita Group, Boracho Formation, Levinson Mbr

  • Washita Group, Fort Worth Formation

 

Age

  • Stereocidaris hudspethensis Cooke occurs at about the Fort Worth Limestone-Denton Marl level, which places it in or around the Mortoniceras (Angolaites) lasswitzi (Young) Zone or lower part of the Mortoniceras (Angolaites) wintoni (Adkins) Zone, very Late Albian Stage (~98 mya).
