Warning about purchasing from dealers who want money up front. Buyer beware!
From time to time we buy from dealers to acquire some of the specimens that we present on the site. Against our better judgment, we purchased a Mammites nodosoides ammonite from Paleo Sahara Fossils (who by the way have changed their name since this psa) who did not accept a credit card or paypal, only a money order. After sending the money, we got the story that the fossil got hung up in customs a couple of weeks later. We inquired about the status of our order one month, then two months later, but we never heard another response. We got burned and just wanted everyone out there to beware, especially if money is wanted up front. We want to stress that this is not an indictment of all dealers, we've never had a problem before, and will continue to use the services of commercial sources of fossils, particularly those that we've developed good relationships with and trust.
